Educational - Dogs, Cats and Animal Allergies
Allergia al gatto, cane e altri animali

Although many animals are known to be allergenic to humans, there is a widespread belief that there are breeds of dogs and cats that do not have these characteristics.

All dogs and cats are a potential cause of allergies, however it has been highlighted that, although there are no "hypoallergenic breeds", there are some animals that have a very low allergenic potential.

Among the countless breeds of dogs and cats you may find a specimen that does not cause you any allergies, on the contrary, an animal to which you are particularly sensitive.

Generally, this circumstance is not specific to a breed, it is a statistical probability and does not mean that in every litter there is an animal relatively free from allergens!

This does not help you much if you are trying to adopt a puppy and you are allergic to cats or dogs!

In fact, all puppies have soft and elastic skin and at this tender age, a person with allergies can probably handle any of them and not show any reaction.

As they grow, the skin becomes less elastic, the sebaceous glands begin to produce more sebum, giving rise to the first symptoms of allergies.

All types of skin, human or animal, contain these glands which produce an oily lubricant that keeps the skin elastic and the fur shiny.

It is from these secretions that the cat allergen "Fel d1" comes, which felines then spread throughout their coat through their continuous self-cleaning.

Once dried, the Fel d1 allergen is easily dispersed into the air and persists in the home environment for a long time.

It is believed with all probability that about 80% of serious cat allergies are induced by the Fel d1 allergen. This is why cats are probably responsible for two-thirds of all pet-related allergies.

Molti peli, pochi peli o nessun pelo!

All cats have glands that produce sebum. The amount of hair a cat has does not play any significant role in its allergenic power.

Although dogs are not "self-cleaners" to the same extent as cats, however, it is still the production of sebaceous glands among the major causes of dog-induced allergies. Like cats, the amount of hair a dog has does not affect its ability to cause allergic reactions.

Dandruff, represented by those tiny particles of dry skin that dogs and cats continually shed, is also capable of triggering allergic reactions. These particles are so small, sometimes invisible to the naked eye, that they persist in suspension in the environment for a long time and then nest on furniture and carpets.

The urine of dogs and cats as well as that of ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters and mice, as indicated by recent studies, contains allergenic factors capable of causing allergies in sensitive individuals.

Misure Preventive

However, this does not necessarily mean that you should abandon the idea of adopting a pet or that you cannot find help to continue to keep one!
There are many measures that can be adopted at home and products that in most cases facilitate the solution to the problem of cat and dog allergies.

Allerpet given its ability to remove allergens before they have the opportunity to enter your home environment is, at the moment, the best solution available to help you keep your dog or cat at home!

Allerpet is a product developed specifically to eliminate, or reduce in the most serious cases, the causes that cause allergies to cats, dogs, ferrets, and other pets in many people.

Regular and consistent application of the Allerpet solution is sufficient to reduce the level of allergens in pets.
The ease of use of Allerpet allows most owners to effectively treat their small animals as often as necessary without having to resort to bathing (in fact, we know that some dogs and cats appreciate a good bath... but not most of their owners!).

Allerpet can reduce the concentration of the fel d1 allergen in your home by 85%, removing up to 90% of allergens from your pet.
Allerpet also gives your pet's coat a healthy and shiny appearance.

It is important to combine the weekly treatment of the animal with frequent cleaning of the environment to eliminate hair and dandruff residues. It is also advisable to follow the rules of correct environmental prophylaxis.
