Photocatalysis is the natural phenomenon in which a substance, called a photocatalyst, modifies the speed of a chemical reaction through the action of light (natural or artificial), its operation imitating chlorophyll photosynthesis.

How does it work?

The chemical process underlying it is in fact an oxidation that starts thanks to the combined action of light and humidity present in the air.

The two elements (light and water vapour), in contact with the photocatalysts (TiO2 - Titanium Dioxide), favor the activation of the oxidation reaction and the consequent decomposition of organic and inorganic substances.

Precisely because of its strong oxidative capacity, photocatalytic oxidation is able to sanitize, deodorize and purify air, water and surfaces.

Photocatalysis not only kills microorganisms (Virus, Bacteria, Molds), but decomposes them. This technology converts toxic harmful particles and gases into safer compounds such as carbon dioxide and water.

a) UV light creates reactive ions

The UVC lamp destroys germs that pass within its radius of action.
When the water vapor present in the air, in contact with the AHPCO catalyst system, is irradiated by UVC rays, reactive ions are generated.

b) Viruses, Bacteria, VOCs and other pollutants are destroyed

The reactive ions generated come into contact with environmental contaminants, actively neutralizing them, purifying the environment.

c) Production of water vapor

The ions that have not reacted with the pollutants bind together, reforming harmless H2O molecules and the cycle repeats.

Simple Commands

Multi-setting touch controls allow you to adjust the Airocide air purifier's operation to low, high or automatic mode.

The automatic setting has a built-in light sensor and will activate low mode when the room is dark and high mode when the room is bright.

LOW: Use Airocide on low settings for environments where quieter operation is needed.
HIGH: Airocide is most effective in this mode and is the recommended setting for best results.
AUTO: This mode operates on a light sensor and automatically switches to a quieter setting during the night. It works in high mode when the environment is bright enough (usually during the day) and automatically adjusts to low when the light is less intense (usually at night).
